About

Annemarie Hartnett

If you’ve met me, you know the story of how I started publishing erotica: I was fresh out of university and hopelessly jobless, so I went to visit a career counselor. Upon seeing from my resume that I had a Bachelor of Arts in English, the counselor immediately said, “Why don’t you try writing?” I was furious.  Broke, unemployed, and furious. It wasn’t long after that I came across a call for submission to a few erotic websites on the net. With pure spite coming out of the tip of my fingers, I finished my first erotic short story and sent it off to the editor. I did the same with another, and another. About a month later I got my first acceptance letter. It just goes on from there.

I’ve contributed to great sites like Oysters & Chocolate Erotic and The Erotic Woman, my work has been featured in anthologies published by Cleis Press, Xcite and others. I’ve also published three full-length works — The Company of Fools and Out Of The Blue (Loose Id), and Head Over Heels (Total-E-Bound.)

I’m a lover of coffee and all things cinnamon. I love anything that makes me laugh, and my sense of humour tends to lean towards the silly. I live in Atlantic Canada and as a result suffer extreme deprivation from things like Ikea, coconut M&Ms and Cherry Coke (my kingdom for a Cherry Coke!) – though I can have a Coffee Crisp whenever I like.
